Two people in white lab coats stand beside a life-size anatomical torso model in a medical teaching room, with one person holding a removable kidney model.

This summer will be interactive. Thus, mark you calendars for the 2026 EpiNephroGen Summer School, which will take place from Sep. 14–18, 2026 at Justus Liebig University Gießen, Germany.

The summer school is designed for early-career researchers in medicine, biology, and bioinformatics who are interested in innovative approaches to kidney research. This year’s program will focus on epigenetic mechanisms in kidney disease, with particular attention to DNA methylation and the integration of sex- and gender-sensitive perspectives in nephrology research.

Participants will benefit from a combination of expert lectures, hands-on data analysis sessions, and a poster pitch session, creating an interactive environment for learning, exchange, and networking. A max. of 20 participants will be selected based on their personal application documents. Travel and accommodation support is available for selected applicants.

Further details about the summer school are available on the event’s website. The summer school will take place in conjunction with the International GeGe4Nephro Symposium 2026, offering participants additional opportunities to engage with current developments and international perspectives in nephrology research. We look forward to welcoming participants to Gießen in September 2026.
